I have been doing so well with the gluten free diet and I am feeling GREAT! My skin is amazingly better and smoother and clearer and prettier.....yay.
Well, last night I was out to supper and had a delicious salad and my dining companion was enjoying some pizza. She tempted me to a slice and I took her up on it because I had decided that after 2 full weeks gluten free and much improved, I wanted to see if this was really going to be a psoriasis solution for me...cutting out the wheat, not eating regular pizza.
Well........................YES, totally gluten allergy here. One piece of pizza and I woke up covered in my regular spots with the psoriasis. Not as bad as it was 2 weeks ago, but a definite flair. No more gluten here. I give up. I want my skin back and I will pick vanity over my yummy yummy gluten.
Wow! That is amazing! Have you read any research on the connection between gluten and psoriasis?
ReplyDeleteI have and there is a connection for some and I am excited to be in this group because at least then I can manage it.....I seem to be able to eat rice and dairy, so it is totally doable. Thank goodness. Yes, there are many things I will miss, so sometimes I may opt for yummy and take the itchy that comes with it!
DeleteI'm giving up bread, well all grain actually. I generally eat only gluten free Ezekial bread, and I've never had an issue with it till recently. I don't know if its a PMS symptom, but whenever I eat anything with grain, I get really bad nausea, almost got sick at work yesterday, and I only had 2 pieces of toast. Totally sucks cuz I love love love me some La Brea french baguettes. Oh well.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to buy some coconut flour and try out this crepe/tortilla recipe I found.
Let me know about the coconut flour....me, too! I can do rice now, but anything else is not fun and makes me sick.
